I am a Second Year Mechanical Engineering student at the University of Southampton. I first got into Engineering whilst trying to design a Mars Rover for a school project and reading about the engineers behind the Apollo project. So when Suzanna invited me to help design a greenhouse that could go on Mars, I was thrilled to join the project.
What’s great about #LettuceOnMars and the MarsOne competition is that it gives the general public the opportunity to input their views on what they think should go to space which you don’t really get to see generally in the space industry; and a reason to really get engaged in discussion in issues that are pertinent in the future of space exploration.
I’m also working on the transmission system for the University’s Human Powered Submarine. In my spare time I play the ukulele and learn Italian.
