I fell in love with Mars as a boy watching Sagan’s “Cosmos”, which convinced me that colonization of Mars is essential and inevitable. I thank Mars One for capturing my imagination and taking concrete steps toward making those dreams a reality within my lifetime.
As an adult, I trained as a biologist and studied cancer and aging for almost 20 years. Now I work as a scientific language editor, helping scientists from around the world communicate their findings to each other and the public.
I read constantly and broadly, especially science and history. A recent snorkeling trip in Hawaii has inspired me to learn how to scuba dive this fall; next year I plan to spend as much time as possible underwater. I also love to cook, and I hope someday to cook the first perfect omelet on Mars.
